WAVECREST CORPORATION COMPLETES
INSTALLATION OF OC-48 SONET PRODUCTION
SOLUTION FOR VITESSE SEMICONDUCTOR
Atlantic City, October 3 - WAVECREST
Corporation today announced the completion of a large-scale
production integration for Vitesse Semiconductor Corporation.
Based upon the proven WAVECREST DTS™ platform,
the solution enables Vitesse to test their sophisticated SONET
devices for a wider range of performance specifications, including
jitter transfer, jitter output, rise-time and fall-time.
A team of WAVECREST engineers collaborated
with Vitesse production management to design and implement
a solution that would leverage the performance benefits of
WAVECREST technology while minimizing the disruption
and the downtime of a system upgrade. At the heart of the
installation, the WAVECREST DTs provided a wide
range of analytical capabilities, while completely eliminating
the need for a separate oscilloscope and signal analyzer.

a significant performance boost to our SONET test" stated
Mike Moacanin, direction of telecom product engineering. "From
an economic standpoint, the integrated solution paid for itself
in the first full day of production."
WAVECREST production solutions may be integrated
into most ATE and are currently capable of test speeds of
up to 3.2 Gb/s for Fibre Channel and Gigabit Ethernet. Products
such as the new TEM™ ("Test Enhancement Module"), a self-contained,
portable and easily integrated system, enable production managers
and test engineers to maximize the performance and the useful
life of their test equipment.
