Comprehensive diagnostics tools shorten
debug and characterization time
Eden Prairie, MN - February 2, 2004 - Wavecrest, the
reference standard for accurate, repeatable and compliant
signal integrity measurement instruments, today announced
they will be demonstrating the newly released GigaviewTM SA,
software for use on equivalent time sampling oscilloscopes,
at Designcon '04, in Santa Clara, California.
Equivalent time sampling oscilloscopes are the instrument
of choice for waveform analysis at or above 10 Gb/s due to
their much higher bandwidth over real-time oscilloscope or
time digitizers. Until now, these instruments have lacked
comprehensive tools for analyzing signal integrity, the most
critical issue for determining overall device performance.
Within signal integrity analysis, debug and characterization
is typically the most lengthy measurement process on sampling
oscilloscopes because it is very difficult isolate and quantify
problems. Wavecrest's Gigaview SA software delivers compliance
measurements and diagnostic information to better characterize
and predict long-term performance of the device.
Gigaview SA accurately and repeatably quantifies Random Jitter
(RJ) and Deterministic Jitter (DJ), Random Noise (RN) and
Deterministic Noise (DN), Data Dependent Jitter (DDJ), Total
Jitter (TJ) and Total Noise (TN) to 10-15 Bit Error Rate (BER).
Wavecrest's Gigaview SA implements a patented and industry
accepted jitter separation methodology that is the reference
standard for Fibre Channel, Serial ATA, PCI Express, Gigabit
Ethernet, Infiniband and XAUI among others. This feature significantly
expands the oscilloscope's compliance and diagnostic capabilities
ensuring interoperability and enabling manufactures to get
their products to market faster.
Gigaview SA software is platform independent and currently
runs on both the Agilent 86100 and the Tektronix CSA and TDS
8000 sampling oscilloscopes. The ability to run Gigaview SA
on either platform enables easy correlation of measurements
obtained from different manufacturer's devices. Furthermore,
no additional mainframe equipment is necessary, keeping the
investment dollars to a minimum.
"Years of experience in developing leading edge signal
integrity analysis instruments has enabled us to develop this
comprehensive software package," states Dennis Leisz,
president and CEO of Wavecrest. "Now, users of the most
popular sampling oscilloscopes will be able to isolate and
quantify problems faster with our patented methodologies.
Our goal has always been to help developers bring their products
to market faster by giving them the most accurate, repeatable
and compliant signal integrity measurement tools in the industry."
Gigaview SA is available for a purchase price of $14,995.
